Hi, my name is Japhet Abad. May last year, I talked with my new endocrinologist. She told me that all my diseases (tachycardia, fibromyalgia, hematuria, hypertension, reactive thrombocytosis, fatty liver, asthma, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and hypothyroidism) would be gone the moment I lost weight. She continued, “Those diseases won’t kill you now, but your obesity will.” I was 190 lbs back then.

That simple statement opened my eyes. I have a fear of death and so when my endocrinologist said that, my outlook changed! Little by little, I followed relatable people on TikTok, where I learned about the importance of calorie deficit and strength training. I replaced my daily Starbucks frappe with a glass of barley, changed my long sleepless nights watching Netflix to actually having long decent sleep, and finally trained my tummy about knowing my hunger signs.

I no longer eat when I’m bored. Water became my best friend. Then after a few months, I decided to do strength training (2 hours a day). Those days were tougher, but my eyes are on the prize as I lose at least 5 lbs a month.

Like I felt I lost connection with my besties as I was busy changing diapers ten times a day, breastfeeding, and learning letters.

As I see my XXL clothes become loose, my reasons for losing weight become different. Before, it was only for myself. But now, I’m losing weight to serve as an inspiration to those who are obese like me. As we speak, I have FREE 1-on-1 coaching with different men and women who need help with their weight loss journey – I’m excited to share that all of them are HAPPILY losing weight.

I’ve heard about calorie deficit too many times. It’s not complicated at all – the mere fact that you can lose weight but still eat ANYTHING, without restrictions or the need to have strenuous exercise – is just amazing for me. True enough I don’t have hypertension, hematuria, and fatty liver anymore. The other conditions I have are already managed and asymptomatic. I have regularly met with 8 Doctors every quarter since 2009. Now, for the first time ever, my doctors’ appointments became 2x a year.
