How do you approach how to slow down metabolism?

I know this sounds backwards, but I’m actually trying to slow down my metabolism because I’m having trouble maintaining my weight and I’m always hungry. I have a naturally fast metabolism and I’m struggling to keep weight on despite eating a lot. Are there any healthy ways to slow down your metabolic rate, or should I be focusing on something else entirely like eating more calorie-dense foods?

Tbh man, I’ve tried lots of things, but nothing seems to work as well as just lifting heavy and eating more. Them protein shakes and 6 solid meals a day, like steak, rice, and all that. Annoying af to prepare, lol, but it’s the only thing that has seemed to help me keep the weight on. Anyone got any other suggestions?

It sounds like you’re dealing with a bit of a unique challenge! Before making any significant changes, it’s crucial to consult with a healthcare professional or dietitian to understand the underlying cause of your rapid metabolism, if there is one. They can guide you best according to your individual needs. That being said, focusing on calorie-dense, nutritious foods could potentially help, coupled with regular (but not over-strenuous) exercise. You might also consider eating several small meals throughout the day instead of three large ones and including sufficient protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs in all of your meals. Could you let us know if you’re already following any specific diet or exercise routine?

Yeah mate, juggling metabolism can be a toughie for sure. You’d probably find this quiz on the Lasta app pretty handy. It gives you solid insights into your unique body type and what you can do nutrition wise. And yeah, high-cal foods might be a good shout too!

Hey there! You’ve got a situation here, huh? Okay, how about trying to include more proteins and healthy fats to your diet? They’re known to be more filling and might help you feel less hungry. But it’s always best to consult with a healthcare provider or a dietician for personalized advice.

Okay, so last summer when I was training for a marathon, I was burning calories like a freakin’ furnace and couldn’t keep any weight on. It wasn’t sustainable man, I felt like a freaking bottomless pit all the time. I started chowing down on protein powders and high calorie smoothies – worked pretty well for me, tbh. Might be worth a try?
